This is really important, so please listen up.
Yesterday, we got good news and bad news. The good news is that the endless nightmares (argh, why does ruins need at least 2 people...) and a surprise (Festivity on the Beach) were released. The bad news is extremely bad.
Duplication has exploded from a few isolated cases into what is now shattering trading in the game. People are willingly taking way too much for their items. And I don't mean like a good deal, I'm talking like would you take 50 pds for 5 pow mats here. But also keep in mind that the trickier ones will offer what seems like an even trade for an ultimately illegit item. There is no way that we can keep track of the trades that happen in our team, but I encourage everyone to be careful and inform anyone else you know to be cautious. Tack is possibly going to set up a trade agreement between legit teams, but somehow I doubt that that can really be coordinated enough for such large teams as jem and ourselves. What about the trade forum, you ask? When I see 10 v101s up for trade in a row and I know that excaliburs are on their way...something is definately not cool.
Now, I was never one to worry about hacking earlier as we generally knew who the problem was and sonic team handled them accordingly. But now, the general populus is carrying around an unacceptable number of actual permanent dupes. A few people have already gotten banned for just having the items in their inventory, even if they did make what they thought was a decent trade for them (thinking they were legit).
So please take this as a warning. If you have a question on a certain trade or a trader be sure to ask. I would hate to see anyone here fall into a trap.
